Roles & Responsibilities
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board plans for Wilsonville's present and future park and recreational needs and acts as a channel of communication between the general public and City staff & elected officials. The Board advises the City Council on any referred policy matters that pertain to parks and recreational services, recommends policy and serves as a sounding board for the department administrator and staff. The Board is also responsible for determining how to grow and/or maintain recreational programs, park areas and amenities, and facilities.
The seven-member board must include at least five members who live within Wilsonville city limits (all must reside within the boundaries of the West Linn-Wilsonville, Canby, Sherwood, or North Marion school districts.) Members serve four-year terms; no member may serve for more than two consecutive terms.
