City Seeks Civic-Minded Community Members to Fill 19 Seats on City Boards and Commissions

September 23, 2022 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants interested in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.

New terms begin in January 2023 for 19 open seats on six City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.

“Anyone passionate about community involvement should consider applying,” Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald said. “The valuable leadership, insight and oversight that our board members provide helps Wilsonville sustain its high quality of life.”

Positions to be filled include:

Diversity within the City’s Boards and Commissions is critical to ensure that City policies and programs serve people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability.  People of all races, genders, ages and nationalities are encouraged to apply.

Qualified applicants are to be interviewed by Mayor Fitzgerald, who makes appointment recommendations to City Council that must be approved by a majority vote.

The application deadline, for new applicants as well as those existing members seeking re-appointment, is Sunday, Oct. 30. Applications are available and may be completed online at ci.wilsonville.or.us/boardsapp.
