Important Dates for Candidates November 8, 2022 General Election

• First day for candidate to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition for office:  June 1, 2022
• Deadline for signature verification & completion of all paperwork with City:  August 23, 2022, 5:00 p.m. 
• Last date to file for candidacy (Allow enough time for  signature verification.):  August 30, 2022, 5:00 p.m.
• Candidates last day to withdraw: September 2, 2022
• Last date to file for County Voter’s Pamphlet (This form is filed directly with Clackamas & Washington Counties Elections):  September 12, 2022
• Election Day:  November 8, 2022
• Newly elected councilors are sworn-in at the first Council meeting of the new year: January, 2023

It is the candidates’ responsibility to ensure paperwork is complete and submitted on time.
