Session 2 Learn-to-Ride Bike Clinic

Calendar Date:

Friday, July 21, 2023 - 10:15am

Kids Riding Bikes

It’s never too early (or too late!) to learn to ride a bicycle. It’s easy, it’s fun,  it’s a skill that will last a lifetime, and it's good for the environment. SMART's Learn-to-Ride Bike Clinics are for children and adults who have never ridden a bike before or who are returning to cycling after an extended period.

The bike clinics provide an effective, low-stress way for kids and adults to learn balance, steering, pedaling, and controlled stopping/braking which produces independence and confidence. Students learn to ride in a non-traffic environment and receive safety education and support to encourage biking to school.

  • Clinics are limited to five students at a time; advance registration is required.
  • Each adult may register no more than two children (must be at least 5 years old).
  • The presence of an adult with the registered child is required.
  • Clinics are held at Wilsonville schools; children do not need to be a student of that school.
  • Participants must bring a fitted helmet and properly sized bike with pedals and training wheels removed.
  • Participants should be able to sit on the seat with their feet flat on the ground.

Join this fun and FREE opportunity to Learn to Ride a Bicycle! School staff and/or parent volunteers are welcome.

* If you have a student that wants to learn and you need assistance to make this happen, please contact SMART to explore solutions.
