volunteers spreading bark at Memorial Park

April 20, 2023 W.E.R.K. (Wilsonville Environmental Resource Keepers) Day is the City’s annual volunteer outing to complete clean-up projects to prepare Memorial Park for the busy summer season. This year, it takes place on Saturday, May 6, from 9-11 am.

Volunteers (groups and individuals are welcome) are assigned tasks such as bark dusting, painting, invasive species removal, and more.

When you sign up, you’ll enjoy the many benefits that W.E.R.K. Day volunteers are provided:

  • A feeling of accomplishment
  • Camaraderie
  • A great resume builder
  • Sunshine*
  • Complementary pancake breakfast, 8-9 am at the Community Center
(courtesy of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville)
  • Goats!

Where else can you volunteer and pet goats? These four-legged visitors have been contracted through Westside Goat Gals to do a little park beautification of their own. They are eating their way through invasive blackberry.

No registration is required for the goat petting, which is being offered for Memorial Park visitors between 10 am and noon.

For more information on W.E.R.K. Day, visit WilsonvilleParksandRec.com or contact Erica Behler, Program Coordinator, at 503-570-1525 or behler@ci.wilsonville.or.us.

*Sunshine not guaranteed because, well, you live in Oregon.
